Our week in the E.R....

Well, this week has been interesting. On Tuesday Kaylese drank the rest of her prescrption cough medicine while hiding in her room. Luckily I found her right after it happened and called poison control. I was hoping that they would say she would be fine. Well, come to find out, this particular prescription, if taken in large amounts, could cause seizures. So, let's just say I called my father in law Tracy to come over quickly to get the boys and give her a blessing. Then Kaylese and I hurried to the Nephi Hospital. Well, she had to be observed for atleast 4 hours, and it ended up being 5.  They had to give her an I.V. to flush her out, she didn't even cry, but she did give a very dirty look. They took hr vitals every half hour and she was actually really good. She was fine, the only side affect was her acting a little loopy for a while. I was glad to be done and so was she. So the lesson from this is, even if you think you hid the cough medicine good enough, you didn't, and if you think it's childproof....it's not.
I bet you thought that was the end of my story, well, it was the end of that one, but the beginning of another. Lastnight, which was Wednesday, Wylie was talking to his Dad on the phone while he was driving home from work. He was still in Provo. Wylie was mad all the sudden because his Dad wouldn't answer him so he handed it to me. I heard something, so I waited. Spencer got back on the phone and said that he was just involved in an accident. He later told me that the impact threw his phone into the back seat. Well, come to find out, a lady driving an SUV two cars behind him was driving too fast to stop and slammed into the guy behind Spencer and then he slammed into Spencer, and Spencer slammed into the guy in front on him. Well, the woman that caused the accident was hauled off in the ambulance and then the woman in the car that Spencer hit also. Spencer called me after and was just going to drive home, but I convinced him to go get checked, so he went to the E.R. at Utah Valley. His neck hurt and he was lightheaded. They said his muscles were really strained, but thankfully, there was no damage to the bone. He made it home late lastnight sore and with a bent hood on our car...I am grateful he is ok, but who knows how sore he will be in the days to come. So, we will see what happens and how long it takes to get our car fixed.  So, even though we are a generally healthy family, who knew we would be taking two trips to the E.R. this week. We are just grateful that everyone is ok.
